The roar of the Rio Bianco waterfalls
There are special places, deep in the countryside, where the only noise is the unmistakable, relaxing sound of water flowing. Such as the Rio Bianco waterfalls in Stenico, in the Adamello Brenta Natural Park.
The deafening, powerful waters tumble from rocks. One of the most spectacular and captivating waterfalls in this part of the Alps.
It is actually made up of three separate waterfalls: the largest is the Rio Bianco, flanked by the smaller Rio Cugol and Rio Malea. Your children will love the cooling spray of this cold Alpine water. The water temperature is always 4°!
They will also be captivated by the cascade's power and beauty. Whether from the bottom, from the road which runs from Stenico, famous for its castle, to the foot of the waterfall, or from above. A gentle stroll, through the botanic gardens, leaders the highest point of the waterfall and onto a panoramic bridge suspended over the roaring water.
Viewed from such close quarters up here, the plummeting water is a spectacle you will never forget. Seeing is believing!
But beware: the Rio Bianco waterfall is seasonal. It doesn’t flow in autumn or winter. In spring, it explodes into its full glory, its foaming white waters pouring majestically down the mountainside. A wonder of nature and of the Dolomites.
