Geology and the Brenta Dolomites
For geologists, these mountains are an open book where every millimetre tells the story of a different century.
A story which began 250 million years ago, when the Brenta Dolomites were a tropical atoll stranded in a deep ocean, separated from other atolls which are now other parts of the Italian Dolomites.
Later, the African and European tectonic plates collided and began to form the "most beautiful mountains in the world", as they were described by French geologist Deodat de Dolomieu, after whom the Dolomites are named. One of nature’s true wonders!
Savour the unique experience of spending time on these beautiful mountains and in the forests of the Adamello Brenta Natural Park which envelop their lower slopes. A natural cure for body and mind, soaking up the peace and tranquillity offered by the mountains. They are an authentic, unspoiled, ancestral place, with the power to inspire.
