I am Vajolet, a geologist with the Adamello Brenta Natural Park, a UNESCO geopark recognised for its extraordinary geological heritage of universal value. I love the park, where I was born and where I have chosen to live and work.
This land is so varied, thanks to the geological diversity that is its main feature and gave rise to so many different types of scenery, thanks also to the wealth of biodiversity in this protected area.
Every rock, every shape we see as we walk through the park, can tell us a story about this place, stories dating back millions of years of tropical oceans, volcanoes and glaciers which have now disappeared, as well as stories of the people who were born and who lived here, in a perfect blend of nature and culture. I love geology and above all I love to show it off to people because it is the basis of all life.
